Brazil's GDP (PPP) is the highest of Latin America with large and developed agricultural, mining, manufacturing, and service sectors, as well as a large labour pool. BRIC or BRICs are terms used in economics to refer to the combination of Brazil, Russia, India, and China.
General thinking is that the term was first prominently used in a thesis of the Goldman Sachs investment bank. The main point of this 2003 paper was to argue that the economies of the BRICs are rapidly developing and by the year 2050 will eclipse most of the current richest countries of the world.
According to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, Brazil has the sixth largest economy in the world by purchasing power parity (PPP) and tenth largest at market exchange rates.
Brazil is a political and economic leader in Latin America. However, social and economic problems prevent it from becoming an effective global power.Brazilian foreign policy has generally reflected multilateralism, peaceful dispute settlement, and nonintervention in the affairs of other countries.

Amazing country. I’m happy to say that for the 13 ears I lived there, before moving to the US, I got a chance to travel quite alot and meet different people from different regions. The diversity found in Brazil is one of the things that make it such a wonderful place. Unfortunately the gap between the lower and upper class seem to continue to grow.
