Death Note is a Japanese manga series originally written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata centering around a high school student who decides to rid the world of evil with the help of a supernatural notebook.
Death Note first began as a manga series first serialized by Shueisha in Weekly Shonen Jump from the first issue in December 2003 to May 2006, with 108 chapters in total. The series has been published in its entirety in 12 graphic novels in Japan. Eventually, Death Note was licensed for American publication by VIZ Media and began to be released in October 2005. Later, a set of live-action movies based on the series were planned for production, with the first part released on June 17, 2006, and the second part due out on November 3, 2006. An anime series based on the manga commenced airing in Japan on October 3, 2006.

WELL I SAW THE MOVIES AND WATCH THE ANIME. THE ANIME ITS REALLY AWSOME BUT I KNOW THAT IM NOT THE ONE THAT SUFFERED WHEN L DIES. LOL. UMMM THE MOVIES WAS OK CUZ THE ONE THAT PLAYS L (KENICHI WATSUYAMA) ITS REALLY CUTE. BUT THE STORY IN THE MOVIE CHANGE A LOT AND TOTALLY CHANGE THE END... THERES A NEW MOVIE OF DEATH NOTE CALLES "L CHANGE THE WORLD" BUT I HAVENT SEE IT... I READ THAT THE MOVIE IS ABOUT THE 23 (I THINK) LAST DAYS OF L...BY THE WAY I BUY A DEATH NOTE!!! I hated the DN ending at first… but now I think of it, DN couldn't have a better, more moralistic ending. Light is worth all the sympathy in the world, but yet he still deserved it.
