The Mac mini is small and cool. Cool in the sense of being ‘cool to the touch’ and just ‘cool’. It sits on your desk, it’s small, it has a bunch of cables coming out of it connecting it to its monitor, etc. It looks great and can fit anywhere. It has the usual Apple thing, legacy free ports, DVI video, and pleasing aesthetics.
The new Intel Mac mini packs the Intel punch and comes with the new remote control. A lot of people are using the remote control and the Front Row software as a video playback system, or digital media hub. Throw away your DVD player, now you have something that can play music, look at your photos and view movies and TV shows downloaded from the Internet, as well as being your personal computer. Very cool.

The Mac mini is the first Mac that I ever bought. Switching from an HP Pavilion, I was amazed by the size and shape of the Mac mini. It had more USB ports than my PC, and yet it was smaller and just as heavy of a hardcover “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince”. The fan is extremely quit, and is only noticeable it when it’s reading/burning a CD or DVD . For any person who is switching from PCs, the Mac mini is perfect.
