Megan McCauley (born August 31, 1988) is an American southern rock singer-songwriter from Cleveland, Ohio. She got her widest exposure in 2005, when two of her songs were placed on the soundtracks of major motion pictures.
McCauley got her professional start singing country music at the age of 7—as Megan Ashley—performing at county fairs in Ohio, releasing albums, even recording a duet with "The Voice" of country music, legend Vern Gosdin—"He's Got the Biggest Little Arms" Within a few years she moved to Orlando, Florida began writing her own songs, eventually changing her style from country to rock.
She was signed by Wind-up Records and in 2004 they included one of her songs on the Elektra soundtrack and two others on the Fantastic Four soundtrack. Also that year, she released a self-titled EP.
In 2006, a single was released, "Tap That", and the following year, an album, Better Than Blood. Better Than Blood is composed of five previously-released songs plus six others.
McCauley is currently in the process of writing her sophomore album. The title has not yet been announced.
