My Chemical Romance is an american band, formed and based in New Jersey, USA. The band was formed by leadsinger Gerard Way, and former drummer Matt Pelliser. Ray Toro joined the band when Gerard realized he couldn't play guitar and sing at the same time. Mikey Way joined the band after listening to the Skylines And Turnstiles (about Gerard's feelings about 9/11) demo, and liking it a lot. Frank Iero joined the band after MCR realized they needed a rhythm guitarist to fill in their sound, and after the band Pencey Prep (in which Frank sang lead vocals) broke up.
They are:
Gerard Way - Lead Vocals
Mikey Way - Bass
Frank Iero - Rhythm Guitar/Backing Vocals
Ray Toro - Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals
Bob Bryar - Drums

i would just like to say that the american and european definitions of emo is different. By the american definition mcr is not emo. But by the european, i guess they are. Just thought you should know. I don’t even like the band or anything.

i hear Welcome to the Black Parade and since then, I've loved them. When I even heard how Gerard Way created the band because of Sept.11 I loved them even more. =)
