Pansexuality is a sexual/affectional orientation characterized by a potential aesthetic attraction, romantic love and/or sexual desire for people of any sex or gender, including transsexual, transgendered, genderqueer and intersex people.
People who use the term “pansexual” may assert that the term is intended to dissolve what they perceive as a binary social construct of gender that divides people into categories of male and female. Those who use this term may claim that the term “bisexual” perpetuates this binary distinction, and marginalizes transsexual, transgendered, genderqueer people whose gender identity may not align with that of their biological sex at birth. Users also state that the term “bisexual” is particularly marginalizing to intersex people, whose chromosomes may not fit the most common distinctions of XX and XY.
Pansexuality is sometimes described as the capacity to love a person romantically irrespective of gender. Some people who are pansexual may assert that the concept of gender is meaningless to them. The word pansexual is derived from the Greek prefix pan-, meaning “all.”

Is this pretty much the same as omnisexuality or different?
The preffixes Omni means all and Pan means of everything or all…so pretty much the same.

I'm "heterosexual", but I can see that there's something wonderful, attractive and sexy about everyone on earth. You know, if a person was raised- let's say alone or with no other humans around, when they did finally have an opportunity to be close to one for the first time, I don't think it would matter what gender the other person was... when they got close... and sparks flew, there would be no gay, straight or misc. No right or wrong. Just 2 humans feeling good together. (I'm not very good at explaining things sometimes.) ..Some people insist that it would be different for them, that they are oriented one way and it could NEVER be any other way. Think about it though...My hypothetical person wouldn't have been taught anything one way or another, so I believe he'd just be attracted to the person who he felt warmth and acceptance with. Regardless of their sexual organs.
This is my first day here...cool site. Now I'm curious to know how other people feel about this. Looks like last post was 25 days ago, so I might not get a reaction any time soon... O well, interesting thought, though, don't ya think? ;)
I don't understand why love should always be linked to sexuality. Those two can, and does, do very good without the other.
Good lord, this is hands down the stupidest thing I have ever heard in my entire life. I don't know if parents have been feeding their children poison, consistently dropping them on their heads from a young age, or systematically removing non-vital parts of their brain to steadily lower their intelligence while still keeping them alive, but I am appalled beyond words that this generation of kids is so intent on asserting their fabricated individuality that they would actually go so far as to make up a synonym for bisexuality and then insist that it has a different meaning because it encompasses additional "sexes" that do not exist.
I'm androgynous, and pansexual!
I totally agree with angry. Woody Allen once said that if really had existed those people it would have been really cool to a party: they have the double of possibilities XD
