Homework and house chores are each an excuse for me to neglect the other.

It's almost three o'clock here in western Europe and I'm back home. But why you American kids are still at home on a Saturday evening?

ileah
ileah posted about 1 year ago

uhhhh

is that a trick question? ;)

Hideous Monster
Hideous Monster posted about 1 year ago

I had to go to work at 10PM. And even if I didn't, I probably would have stayed at home all weekend, anyway.

Boomstam
Boomstam posted about 1 year ago

whats wrong with beeing home on a saturday night?

swissbob
swissbob posted about 1 year ago

As I was young (so many years ago) we called it Saturday Night Fever.

swissbob
swissbob posted about 1 year ago

But of course is was the pre-internet time.

AJMcFly

Depends on your personality. For example, I am the least social creature you’ll meet.

Boomstam
Boomstam posted about 1 year ago

depends on a lot of things, like money or other hobbys. maybe some of those kids had important things to do on sunday morning

when is was younger i was drunk every saturday night, and thursday and fridays.... that really improved my life or something?

Hideous Monster
Hideous Monster posted about 1 year ago

Really, I don't imagine that most things that are available to be done outside of my house on saturday nights are really good for me, anyway.

ileah
ileah posted about 1 year ago

me i just don't have a life.. so i stay home and talk on the computer.. hehe ;)

Hideous Monster
Hideous Monster posted about 1 year ago

I have a life. I fight in wars.  Sometimes I fight a race of militant creatures who emerge from the ground, and sometimes I fight a vast alien cult that worships a ringworld, infested by a parasytic, intelligent fungus hellbent on absorbing all life in the galaxy.  Every once in a while, I'll stop by some World War II battles, and help push back the nazis, or the americans, depending on what mood I'm in. Other than that I frequently make pop-culture references and puns on this website. A modest lifestyle, but at least I stay sober.

RIGHT ON! ;)

Just curious...

Absolutely nothin!

What would life be without procrastination???

Pudfker
Pudfker posted about 1 year ago

Quicker?

efficient?

Less fun because we would always be doing someting we should be doing.

Hideous Monster
Hideous Monster posted about 1 year ago

Not necessarily.  Many of us procrastinate on things we should not be doing.

Jillie
Jillie posted about 1 year ago

er… i don't know. that's a lot of "be doings" :p

Pudfker
Pudfker posted about 1 year ago

Yeah you just have to divide by the number of 'should be's' and you'll be fine. :)

Not always, i'm looking for ugg boots with wool lining, cos my g/f wants them, ha, i wish they weren't so expensive…

Jif
Jif posted about 1 year ago

Why don’t you get her these instead? Vegan

MastaKink
MastaKink posted about 1 year ago

Uggs r out dude, where u been?!

quaternions
quaternions posted about 1 year ago

@Jif. I think sheepskin and wool is from already dead sheeps, so its ok...but the vegan one is tempting cos its cheap...why do textile ones cost £15 and wool ones £150, tis stoopid lol.

@Masta, ugs are an australian 'invention' so being ozzie she likes them...

MastaKink
MastaKink posted about 1 year ago

ah, so I guess she's also crazy about vegemite??

quaternions
quaternions posted about 1 year ago

quaternions

Funny as it is (some good comments here, besides the IM style chatting), it can also be a truly annoying problem. I found a book (on wowio, nice site for free books) that is spot on:

THE 60 SECOND PROCRASTINATOR
Sixty Solid Techniques to Jump-Start Any Project and Get Your Life in Gear!
JEFF DAVIDSON

Maybe it sounds a bit corny, but it is great. It's written in a way that it's short and easy to read, especially with procrastinators in mind. After reading the intro sections and the first few actual tips, I'm pretty convinced that this book would fix my procrastination problem.

I got it a couple months ago, I'll get to finishing it later...
