Stars are not in the world, so why is it on “the best stuff in the world”?
As more and more municipal lights keep the night too bright to see the stars, I have to say that they’ve become my favorite part of the evening sky; they’re a sight for sore eyes.

New pic (with all the galaxies) is the Hubble Deep Field. Astronomers pointed the Hubble Space Telescope at a tiny section of sky in which nothing (NOTHING) could be seen from Earth, zoomed in (or whatever they do) as much as they could, and…wow. It's amazing how much stuff there is out there.

Go to galaxyzoo.org. This site trains you to classify galaxies, in about 5 minutes. Then when you are trained and tested they start sending you pictures from deep space, of galaxies to classify that have NEVER been seen by a human before. These pictures are taken by a computer-controlled robotic telescope and camera, so the FIRST human to ever see each picture is YOU!!! They have a back log of almost 1,000,000 pictures to sort through so there are plenty to go around. I classify several hundred galaxies a day and have made some startling discoveries.

Over half of the stars we see in the sky tonight are no llonger stars, they have long been extinct we are just seeing the remaining light that has been streaming through the galaxies for some insane amount of time.

ok i will... hmmm in anceint egypt the people believed that the sky was a portal to the gods (hence why pyrimads r so dang tall) and they believed that Ra the sun god (often portraited as a scaribe beatle) traveled acrossed during the day and at night was killed by aphous the god of night and durning the night he (Ra) passed through the underworld with souls of dead people to help the to the afterlife durning the night the encountered many horrible tasks witch the dead people had to cope with to get to the after life. they also believed that Ra was reborn at the begining of each day.
