i haven’t seen the film and i don’t want to, i read that book when i was little and the way i see the characters is preserved in my head.

I totally agree, I wont watch the movie. The book was super good and I don’t want to ruin it.

Watch the movie.  It's the best that has ever been made.  It has never be re-made because no one could do it better.  It won't spoil your memories of the book.
